Al Doeve
PTCYSA Recreation Staff Coach
770-823-5262

Al Doeve returns to PTCYSA with the Fall 2007 recreation program to provide overall coordination of parent coach training and recreation player development support. In a similar PTCYSA role between 1999 and 2003, Al helped license over 425 parent coaches, upgraded recreation program field locations and encouraged adoption of state and national coaching trends (small sided soccer, KINS, U10 6v6, the Academy).

Doeve’s support for youth soccer dates back to the mid-seventies and includes stints as Missouri Youth Soccer Association state president (1983-1985) and USYS National Committee Chair for High School Relations (1986). He has continuously served on Missouri and Georgia state association coaching staffs (1984-present), founded Kennesaw FC (1993), chaired GYSA’s Academy Program (2004) and served as FCYSL’s recreation director (2005). A USSF licensed national coach (1984 C, 1986 B, 2000 National Youth License), Al’s primary focus has consistently been recreation player development through informed, effective parent coaching.

A graduate of UMass/Boston and customer service leader for such companies as TWA, Worldspan, Snapper, CellularOne, MARTA and AGL Resources, Doeve has been a resident of PTC since 1998 and currently provides business consulting services based upon the Malcolm Baldrige model for organization excellence. He serves on several not for profit boards and is currently board chair the South Fulton Chamber Of Commerce. With the support of spouse Maggie, all three children (2 in college, 1 in high school) have participated in PTCYSA programs.
